Is everyone surviving this crypto winter 🥶? We woke up this morning to a frozen tundra, with BTC and ETH prices falling further off their highs and shitcoins getting obliterated. Did anyone else see that saber-toothed tiger roaming around? Fortunately, it seems like the weekly Sunday🔥 roast of @drtymlk has thawed things a bit; prices are recovering slightly. Better to stockpile firewood and practice making memes on cave walls though, because things may get colder yet.

This was a busy week of UX drops, what with fully open-source and the new Bitclout.com sidebar, and all. Tonight, let’s take some time to catch-up on other key projects and updates we think y’all should know about 👇👇👇
Are you as verbose as @nvo? Need a way to squeeze more content into the perfect post on Bitclout without linking out to a full whitepaper? Earlier this week, @paulburke (who is quickly becoming a mainstay of these pages) illuminated how some users are already getting past the 280 character limit (spoiler alert, it’s because of the extension he made):
Elsewhere, @cdd alerted us to potential developments pertaining to $Bitclout’s exchange listing:
Looking at rolling updates to the Bitclout.com code, @cdd thinks $Bitclout will be listed as “CLOUT” on exchanges once it gets featured. For one, it continues to look like exchange-listing is a priority for the core devs and that details are being ironed out.
Secondly… if the $Bitclout currency is listed as CLOUT… that’ll just be f%@&ing sick 🤘
#3 Rogue 🐳 alert ⚠️ + another rug
As crypto hodlers see their portfolio get decimated, it looks like at least one big fish is selling a big whack of $Bitclout, too. Earlier today, @mig1cko tipped us off to a potential sale from a genesis user with a notional value in the millions:
Is this a major whale leaving the pod for good? Or is this 🐳 just following a weird migration route that will see it pop back on our radars in some other distant corner of the Bitclout oceans?
What’s important to note here is that if genesis block users (i.e. users who had privileged, early access to the platform and were gifted $Bitclout) bail, that’s even more concerning than the occasional departure of big whales who started dabbling with Bitclout.com when it first went public like the rest of us. Ideally, the genesis block folks are invested in seeing the project as a whole succeed, and wouldn’t hop out of the ocean lightly.
While we wait for more details, its worth remembering that $Bitclout flows will become all the more important to track as exchanges outside of the current OTC options come online. Will we see an outflow of other 🐳s and minnows alike? Probably. But our hope is that an initial outflux as more doors open will be met by a subsequent deluge of new money (#hopium).
In other less encouraging news, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, @5kaday, the sinister cousin of another past rug-pull, @2kaday, rugged investor’s last night. The accounts’ value proposition had been to purportedly invest $5k into its coin each day for 30 days. Instead, it predictably rugged after just a few days.
Here’s a friendly PSA: these scammers don’t change their stripes. They should be avoided ESPECIALLY when they make literally no effort to conceal their intentions or to add any semblance of value. We’re sorry, but our sympathy for anyone who participates in these coin pumps hoping they can get out early is minimal at this point. You’re lending credence to schemes that then look more legit to new and unsuspecting users. Stahhhhp.

That’s enough to get us committed to making damn sure this bad boy hatches. Hop into the coop and make sure to give this 🥚 some love. Maybe it’s another @happyduck inside??? While it doesn’t look like a duck egg, that’s the best case scenario, tbh.
