The @DeSoNniversary weekend in LA was a fun-filled experience that many of us will be talking about for years to come. Here is how it all went down:
In order to maximize our big weekend, some of us arrived at the airport in LA bright and early on the morning of Friday, March 25. Slowly, over the course of a few hours, we collected a group of DeSo friends coming in from all parts of North America. After surviving an overcrowded, bumpy shuttle to the shared-ride pick up location at LAX (which takes ALL the ease and efficiency out of app-based transportation) we headed to meet @AlinaFerry for lunch at a delightful restaurant close to her office. The fact that we managed to order at all was a feat of amazement as the ordering process was confusing and chaotic at best. It’s as though we needed some sort of LA cool kids inside information none of us were sure we possessed.
After lunch, we spent some time at our respective hotels in Downtown LA and then eventually migrated back together on Friday night for dinner at Pitznoy Bar and Grill. By that point, we’d accumulated significantly more DeSo friends. The location had a fun atmosphere and live music and most importantly, could accommodate our large group. After dinner, this large group headed off to drink and play some pinball and other arcade games at EightyBar. Anyone with the required hand-eye coordination to master pinball after an evening of cocktails is a bonafide rock star.
As the night wore on our numbers as a group began to dwindle but those of us that were up for the challenge continued on our quest for fun ending up at one last spot, hidden deep down in a basement (at a bar and not some stranger’s house as that would be creepy).
