A BitsTODAY x Neurally x BitcloutSignal collaboration series. Let’s deep dive into factors that correlate (or don’t) to CC prices. Then, what should my FR be? After, digging up 💎s.

Here it is. The collab you might not have known you needed, but will DEFINITELY want to inject straight into your veins. If @BitsTODAY, @Neurally and @BitcloutSignal had a first-born, this would be it 👶. We named this baby “Big Brain.” We’re accepting baby shower gifts over in @Neurally’s wallet ;).

What do we love about Bitclout? Community first and foremost. Experiencing early adoption also comes to mind. But we’d of course be kidding ourselves if we didn’t note profit potential, and the allure of having our own social tokens.

Given how central creator coin (“CC”) dynamics are to the Bitclout experience, we’re super excited to take a deep dive today into factors that correlate (or don’t) to CC prices. From there, we’ll hop into some other data points, including a fun digression on who has accumulated the diamonds since the feature’s inception 💎💎💎.

Massive props to @Neurally here, who, equipped with data from @bitcloutsignal, did the heavy lifting.

Here’s a quick TOC of where we’re headed today:

  1. Methodology Notes 🔬
  2. Want to increase your CC value? Keep your bio verbose.
  3. The $1M Question: What should my Founder’s Reward be?
  4. Rainmakers: Who’s building the biggest stash of 💎s on Bitclout?

Enough build-up… drum-roll please 🥁🥁🥁 … let’s dive into the quant-y nerd stuff 🤓

#1 Methodology Notes 🔬

  • All data visualized and analyzed is as of 5/23 and stretches back to the conception of Bitclout (or in the case of more recently released features, with their release).
  • All users on Bitclout were considered in the exhibits except where other criteria were employed and noted, e.g. creator coin price above a certain threshold.
  • For section #2, only users that were active in the past 7 days were featured (n = ~10,000). Accounts in the top 200 creator list that aren’t active were also excluded, e.g. @elonmusk (*overvalued*)
  • All data was analyzed by @Neurally and sourced from @bitcloutsignal (both criminally undervalued)
  • Where any subjective interpretation is offered, you can blame @BitsTODAY for that

#2 Want to increase your CC value? Keep your bio verbose.

Looking for a sure-fire way to increase the value of your Creator Coin?? OK… we don’t know about sure-fire, but there does appear to be a modest positive correlation between the length of your creator bio’s and CC price. I.e. longer bios tend to accompany higher CC prices. Of course, correlation doesn’t always equal causation. But in this case, it does look like less isn’t more when it comes to your bio. Embrace the @nvo writing style; no need to aim for brevity ✍️✍️✍️

(as previously seen on @Neurally’s profile here)

Something that doesn’t appear to impact your CC price as much? How chipper the sentiment of your bio is. @Neurally used natural language processing to see if there’s a correlation between the sentiment (positive vs. negative) of the text in creator bios and their CC price. While there’s a tiny bit of a positive correlation here, it’s almost negligible. If you want to be a negative (or sarcastic) nelly… feel free to proceed.

One interesting thing to note? Across Bitclout.com, creators’ sentiment in their bios is generally positive. This is visualized by the left-tailed skew of the sentiment distribution: The majority of the sentiment values are above zero, i.e. ranging from marginally positive to super-hype.

#3 The $1M Question: What should my Founder’s Reward be?

We now turn our attention to a question that’s as old as the platform itself. What should I set my Founder’s Reward (“FR”) to? Is there an optimal percentage that maximizes rewards without scaring off investors??

Overall, there’s definitely a negative correlation between FR and CC price. Said differently, accounts with high CC values tend to have lower founder rewards. There are exceptions to this rule, but they are few and far in between, especially in the vaunted $1,000+ coin price club.

This shouldn’t come as a major surprise — investors lose a % of their investment equivalent to your FR reward each time they buy your coin, so higher FRs are effectively higher hurdles of conviction that investors need to clear. It is worth noting that FRs are easily changed; this data is a snapshot of a point in time and a live visualization of the chart would show movement akin to twinkling stars all over the chart ✨.

Below $1,000 creator coin prices, there is more dispersion in the data. There are accounts with 20%, 30%, and even 50% or 100% FR that manage to still attract investment. Many of these are likely dev projects or investment funds that raise capital via the founder reward and have advertised mechanisms for distributing rewards back to users or offer access to a tool or service. Still, the modal FR is 10%, which is also the default rate that many accounts started at.

#4 Rainmakers: Who’s building the biggest stash of 💎s on Bitclout?

*Howard Ratner has entered the chat*

Now that we’ve gone deep juicing your creator coin prices (and we’ve probably lost everyone to go adjust their bios and FRs), we’ll close with splashy stats on the flow of diamonds on Bitclout.

While the new side-bar shows you who received the most diamonds on any given week, zooming out, let’s take a look at who has been building the biggest treasure chest of 💎 since the feature’s inception. Turns out, there’s a reason he or she or it goes by @diamondhands 👀:

Behind @diamondhands (who has received a whopping $15,000+ in diamonds), @jakeudell and @maebeam are at the top of the leaderboards here, followed closely by @ludo. It’s nice to see @jakeudell representing the top 5 as a non-dev hype man, and also to see @ludo close behind in 4th as a non-core member of the Bitclout development community. Of course, we aren’t mad to see @diamondhands and @maebeam getting their share of love. @ASG has probably contributed in no small part to Maeyoncé’s position up there.

Shifting focus, let’s analyze which creators have the most ‘breadth,’ or diversity of diamond donors:

Some familiar faces feature prominently in the top 10, including @jakeudell still, @marionawfal, @krassenstein, @craig and @rajlahoti. In this view you also see non-influencers and non-devs pop into the list however; the legendary @happyduck is here to represent the animal kingdom (LFG 🦆🦆🦆), as is the meme king @huntsauce (*sends more diamonds*). @NightcoreMtb is also a frontrunner representing the arts, and we get more female representation from @designsta in the 11th slot. 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️

What’s the importance of a diverse base of diamond gifters? High diversity here means a creator’s content appeals to a wide range of users. In contrast, a creator may receive a lot of diamonds and diamond value from a small group of donors (a more “loyal” base of followers), which wouldn’t land them on the above chart.

What would happen if we adjusted this data to account for other variables, including creator coin prices, followers, and the total value of diamonds received, while still accounting for the breadth of donors? That’s exactly what @Neurally distilled in the below ‘composite’ score, which weights value received and unique # of diamond donors positively and follower counts and creator coin price negatively.@diamondhands and @maebeam were also excluded for the sake of this visualization:

Here, we see the fearless leader of @NachoAverage, @ClayPerryMusic representing the common man in 10th place, offering proof that a creative idea, a can-do attitude, and some confidence and clout can take any of us far 💪. Fire up, Clay! 🔥

Further, @ludo features in this view again, and @memes sneaks into the mix too 🦍🦍.

Well, how did you all enjoy the first ever issue of Big Brain: @BitsTODAY x @Neurally x @BitCloutSignal series? If the answer is not that much, blame @BitsTODAY. If the answer is very, you’re in luck, we have follow-up editions with lots more data coming your way in the next two weeks. Stay tuned and make sure to follow us, @Neurally and @BitCloutSignal for more.

Over & out,
